Can God be known . . .
by viewing Him from human experience?
Can we touch spiritual reality . . .
without believing God’s Word?
Can we have faith . . .
while walking in unbelief?
Can we surrender our lives . . .
without letting go of control?
Can we understand redemption . . .
without recognizing the destruction of the fall?
Can we see clearly. . .
without starting and ending with an eternal perspective?
Can we see God’s eternal plan . . .
without backing out of time?
Can God’s highest created angel . . .
and the scope of his fallen power be understood by our mind?
Perspective is defined as: 1. The technique of representing three-dimensional objects and depth relationships on a two-dimensional surface. 2. The relationship of aspects of a subject to each other and to a whole.
Representing three-dimensional objects with depth relationship, the depth relationship of the natural with the spiritual, and their relationship to a whole is challenging.
You are so heavenly minded you are no earthly good! I am sure we have all heard that expression. I believe the real problem is that we are so earthly minded we are no heavenly good!
How then can we be heavenly minded?
- aim at and seek the [rich, eternal treasures] that are above.
- set your minds and keep them set on what is above.[i]
- Recognize the work of the Holy Spirit who teaches by comparing spiritual things with spiritual. [ii]
Stop spending so much time thinking of things on this earth.
Determine to keep your mind set on things above. Consider, examine, and meditate on the things of life from a heavenly perspective.
Pursue spiritual teaching and understanding. Read, associate with, and cultivate spiritual activity that gives the Holy Spirit the material necessary to give you a heavenly perspective.
