An open heaven

Do you feel the pressure rising?

Are you longing, unsettled, discontent in your relationship with heaven?

Does your heart cry out there must be more?

I tell you the truth, you will all see heaven open and the angels of God going up and down on the Son of Man, the One who is the stairway between heaven and earth.[i]

What is the key to an open heaven?

When I first heard the term open heaven my question was, what does an open heaven feel/look like?  I had a preconceived idea of what the experience of an open heaven would be like.  That preconception left me waiting for an experience, an event.  Waiting for something over which I had no control.

The experience of an open heaven does not come by knowing what it feels/looks like.  It begins by knowing what it means to live under an open heaven and how to access it.

The Word of God speaks about victory and all the resources that are ours in Christ.  When Jesus walked the earth He drew everything from the Father.  He said He could do nothing by Himself. [ii]

We are to  draw from Christ as He drew from the Father.  The key to an open heaven is the realization that we have an open heaven.  It is with that realization that we open our heart and mind to receive.

Jesus Christ is the ladder reaching from earth to heaven.  He opened the way with His resurrection.  We are seated with Him in heavenly places.[iii]

The open heaven for the Lord Jesus was the anointing.  The Holy Spirit descended upon Him.  For believers, the open heaven is the anointing of the Spirit poured out from the day of Pentecost onward.

An open heaven means a continually growing revelation of Jesus Christ.  He leads us into the presence of God.  Open, we have an open way to commune with God.  We have open access for revelation of heavenly things.  The Holy Spirit is our teacher enabling us to receive directly from God in Christ.

When He, the Spirit is come, He shall guide you into all truth.[iv]

The anointing which you received abides in you  teaches you concerning all things.[v]

Jesus came as man and lived with the same limitations we have, although without sin.  He communed with the Father and overcame those limitations.  Through Him, we too can overcome human limitations and live in victory.

We really need to stop and think about that.  He overcame human limitations.  He is not expecting us to overcome in our own strength.  He has done it for us.  Our part is to believe and draw what we need from Him.

Believe and receive, that pretty much sums up our

relationship with all things heavenly.

When the heavens seem like brass, when you feel shut in, shout your victory.  Look up and declare that your victory is in Christ.  From the ladder in your heart, ascend into His presence to receive all that you need.

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever.  Amen.[vi]

Come into an open heaven and unto Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think!
