Special delivery–signature required

Consider the source

We have all probably heard this expression.  It is a very important consideration, if you are depending on that source to carry you through the circumstances of life.  When you look at yourself as the source, your possibilities are limited at best.

What God requires He provides.  Your signature, however, is required. When you sign your name, you verify that you are the person designated as the recipient.

Daily we sign our name to various things.
We do this in our heart, and with our words.

All around us there are unseen forces working.  They work for our destruction or our preservation.  If Satan and his hosts had their way, believers would have been extinct from this earth eons ago.  Nevertheless, God has sustained a people for Himself.

God’s special delivery system is not always evident to the natural eye.  Looking into the unseen is a necessary skill for withstanding the battles of life.

Consider these words and the crushing circumstances they describe:

We are hedged in (pressed) on every side [troubled and oppressed in every way], but not cramped or crushed; we suffer embarrassments and are perplexed and unable to find a way out, but not driven to despair;

We are pursued (persecuted and hard driven), but not deserted [to stand alone]; we are struck down to the ground, but never struck out and destroyed;

Amid honor and dishonor; in defaming and evil report and in praise and good report. [We are branded] as deceivers (impostors), and [yet vindicated as] truthful and honest.

[We are treated] as unknown and ignored [by the world], and [yet we are] well-known and recognized [by God and His people]; as dying, and yet here we are alive; as chastened by suffering and [yet] not killed;

As grieved and mourning, yet [we are] always rejoicing; as poor [ourselves, yet] bestowing riches on many; as having nothing, and [yet in reality] possessing all things.i

God commands us, in the midst of the evil of our days, to stand.ii  His provision is available.  He is able to keep us from falling.iii

God’s special delivery system never fails to provide all that we need.  Despite what circumstances bring, He never fails.

Daily deliveries come into all our lives, both for good and evil.  We choose which of them we will receive.  When the knock at the door of life comes, you must choose whose report you will believe.  The lyrics of a song by the same name echo this very thing–

Whose report

Will
you believe

We shall believe

The report of the Lord

His report says

I am healed

His report says

I am filled

His report says

I am free

His report says victory iv
