As I sat looking out at the beautiful North Woods my thoughts were all toward the Lord. For more than 25 years this place has been my personal Garden of Eden. Each path is full with memories of my walks in the Garden with God. And yet this time my spirit was stirred in a very different direction. As I looked out at all the tranquility, listening to the wind stir through the trees, I saw a vision and fully felt the passion of it in my spirit.
I saw myself as if I were standing right next to the Father, looking outward toward the earth. A passion gripped me and I could hear myself say, “I want to do only one thing. I just want to war! I want to war with an unrelenting ferocity!”
Can it be that God is amassing His soldiers and we are waiting for the strategy and our orders to go forth?
Many years ago I had the mindset that the enemy was coming against me and that I needed to be defensive. God had to redirect that mindset. I saw that the enemy was not coming against me, but that I was coming against the enemy. I was not to be defensive but offensive.
“Through You we will push back our adversaries; Through Your name we will trample down those who rise up against us.” Psalm 44:5
What is the Lord’s strategy for His purposes coming forth? What is the battle that rages in this age? Is it not the cosmic struggle of clashing kingdoms, one of utter darkness and one of glory and light? If it is a clash of kingdoms what part do believers have in this?
The Lord’s people everywhere are involved, and in a very real sense the conflict rests upon them for its outcome.
God desires to make you a declaration to the kingdom of darkness – the kingdom of God is at hand! The Bible tells us that if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17
In Christ, you become a totally new creation. In Christ is a place, an identity, a relationship with a completely new order of thinking and acting. From this position, He has made available to us the use His name and His authority.
In Christ, there is no division, not Jew or Gentile, no male or female. In Christ there is neither circumcision nor uncircumcision. All divisions and separations fall. In Christ we have entered a new kingdom – the kingdom of God. All other kingdoms are merely the kingdoms of man.
Are you in Christ? I mean are you really walking as one in whom all things have become new? Or are you in Christ, yet still dependent upon the kingdoms of man for your identity? The real question again is, are you in Christ? If you are in Christ, you are of a completely new order of species, responding to a new kingdom and no longer wooed by or intimidated by lesser kingdoms. It is a choice between the kingdom of God and the kingdom of man, which is ruled by Satan. Wherever man is at the center and not God, you have man’s kingdom.
Although we speak of man’s kingdom, there are really only two kingdoms: the kingdom of God and the kingdom of darkness. Ephesians is very clear on the fact that when we did not know Christ, we walked under the power of the dark kingdom. When we came to Christ we were translated from one kingdom into another. We can only walk in one or the other. Ephesians 2:1-6; Colossians 1:12-13
Seeing the kingdom of Christ and having our hearts submitted in all areas to the King, sets us apart and allows the bringing forth of the kingdom of God on the earth.
God must realign us. He will remove us from under the kingdoms of this world and place us solely under Christ, if we will allow Him. The Holy Spirit will sovereignly and in various ways work with us to cause us to lose our grip of control. As we seek Him, He will give us more and more revelation, the truth that sets us free indeed. Pray for this and allow God to have His way, no matter what the cost.
This is a very real war, fought on a spiritual battlefield which is playing out on the earth. Satan’s intent is to remove anything of the kingdom of God from this earth. The escalation of his plans are evident everywhere you look. Christ is being militantly removed from all spheres of life and oftentimes backed by the governments of this world.
God will have His end ultimately. Jesus Christ has accomplished everything necessary to God’s end. Standing in the truth of all we have in and through Christ will provide us with the authority and weaponry we, the church, need for this battle.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven … may it be so in and through us!
